Why Beer Burros?

Who came up with this?

All great things start with a supportive family! Throw in a husband and best friend who encourage wild ideas, and what could go wrong?

It all started when the nephews asked for a “little horse” (meanwhile pinching his tiny, adorable fingers together just to show me how little he meant) and being who I am as a person, I found them the cutest, most perfect little horse!!

Their excitement lasted no more than 3.7 seconds.

Of course, I had scoured the internet for this adorable “little horse”, so I was already in love with him! Then I got another one, because….. the price was right? I don’t know. She is cute…? Is that a more acceptable reason? Anyway, she is even more perfect than the first one! Princess is actually a Queen!

The nephews continued to have a complete lack of interested in the “little horses” I was bringing around. The ponies needed a job, and it was clear that was not going to include toting around the nephews.

Then I started seeing the cutest donkeys serving beer to guests… light bulb…
My sister was at an event in Arizona shortly after this and they brought in some Beer Burros for their event. Digging around the internet showed all these adorable donkey servers around the country, but none close to our area.

At the same time, my family started construction on a new wedding venue in Northwest Arkansas - Plentywoods Venue.

This all came together perfectly at the right time for a business opportunity that I felt was meant to be for my rapidly growing herd of minis.

Of course, now came time to find some mini donkeys up to the task of being part of the Brew Crew.

I was watching a loose auction for a cute little pony that looked like a miniature war horse. Well we didn’t end up with the mini war pony, but when a gelded donkey came through (that wouldn’t stop harassing the ring help) I was strongly encouraged by my husband to bid “just one more time” (three times), which led to owning our first mini donkey - Swamp. What a great decision - We LOVE little Swampy and his extra large personality. Then a friend needed to get rid of a couple mini gelded donkeys, and they were already tried and true around crowds of people, so I jumped at the opportunity to take them home.

Now we are at three mini donkeys & three ponies and have a great Brew Crew ready and willing to hand out whatever you can dream up, all while putting smiles on the faces of whoever they encounter.
